HE/ SHE: Difference of 'S' = " SHAKTI"

Travelling from one part of city to other leaves me no choice but observe people around me other than sleeping! ;) People so different from each other yet sharing a common perspective towards the most important aspect of their existence – ‘women’

I see girls waiting for the buses or the metro at the station, and only one thing reflects from the look on their face, FEAR. An unknown fear always lingers on their mind, no matter how bold or strong or open-minded she claims to be. And the first question that crosses my mind with a wave of intense anger is why? Why is she afraid? Obviously I don’t need to ask from whom does she fear! We all know the answer, its ‘men’
I am not writing some criticism about the thinking of guys these days based on the prevailing molestation, rape cases. It’s a call to the one who are equally responsible for our existence as we ourselves are.
I ask women why do you think that you are inferior to men?

 I think I have an answer. The society itself is to be blamed, especially those intelligent sexist minds behind its development. From the beginning we have been taught, ‘ girls are tender, they are physically weaker than men’, ‘men are to protect girls, take care of her through thick and thin’ etc. etc. these words have been so wisely disseminated through various forms of literature and communication that the coming generations actually started  materializing this thought process and now it has become such an integral part of our existence that even women are found to be saying: ‘ a gentle man should care for me, protect me’  ‘ I need someone to protect me, be by my side’ etc. etc.

But why???  Why are you degrading yourself?  Those sexists aimed at dividing the society and played their game so safe and well that once just words are now your attitude!!
Volumes of literature, novels, stories are documented and each one carries a subtle message that women are weak and need to be cared. This message is absorbed by the mind and gets imprinted in the subconscious, and regular absorption of such thoughts tends to develop an attitude in men’s mind that the creature they see in this world to whom they are so sexually attracted is very weak, soft and tender, simultaneously women also get the same imprint in their subconscious and start believing they are actually weak. So now they look for men who can support them.

Coming to the mythological + religious characters of DURGA, KALI etc. we realize that apart from sexists there were minds who were opposing this kind of societal development. So they came up with ‘SHAKTI WORSHIP’ they began to see feminine aspect of the nature as mother and so she is! They preached that it is Shakti which is the source of all creation. They developed an allegory of a women, so brave that she is sitting on a LION, to reflect her dominance and strong nature they showed her with countless hands and faces with every hand carrying an arsenal of weapons. Her face shining brightly with power that a mere glance of her will shatter your ignorance and pride.  

WOMEN, I ask you why do you think this concept was developed? It was an attempt to revive your true position in the society. Do not think that it’s another sexist attempt to glorify feminity, it is an attempt to make YOU realize that you are not weak, not even physically as the medical science or any other philosophy or whatsoever claims so!
 If it were so then why would KALI be worshipped as a source of power? How would DURGA slain single-handedly mighty powerful but corrupt rulers of that time? Do not just read those stories in PURANAS or watch them on TV shows and be entertained!! Realize your potential.

While marrying , a guy is made to promise ‘he will take care of the bride, protect her’ etc. I ask why?? Bride is as powerful and strong as you are, she can take care of herself, stop dominating her.

And women.. before I ask men to do so, I ask YOU to realize your TRUE SELF! Nature is feminine, energy is feminine.. then how can you think you need someone to protect you? Men worship goddesses for protection and you seek them for the same? IRONY isn’t it???!!!

Our country is hailed as BHARAT MATA.. why?? Whole country being allegorized as feminine and yet its women are so weak! And then you look at the western countries and get upset looking at women’s stand there! They do not know any durga or kali yet women and men respect each other’s power equally and co-exist together, atleast try so!


Rise O’ women.. do not be weak, you are as strong as men are, leave all the myths you have been hearing and living with for that’s an attempt to rule you. There is no ruler or slave here
It’s your own thinking that creates and materializes.

GROWN UP

I wonder if i have grown, can't recall that dumb twelve year old. had worries to clear the class tests, wanted to score highest , and be called the 'best'. i look down on the flowing sands of time, couldn't see that perfect shine, maybe am wrong, growing up is an illusion it seems so while am high on gong. playing around all day, no care if there were men women or gays. fights with them guys were so naive that reminiscing them,on my face brings a wide smile. the memories from the past are the sun rays on dew, beaming high with hopes, for future that's not so sure. now i realize i have gone further from all that, become carefree and the scores gone all flat, them friends are nowhere, world's got stranger, trusts of past have taken a new form, lonely roads in the heart have become boulevards to tread on.

When I was child free from the worries my father faced; I would sit in one corner of my room with my history books open and reading about the sea journey of Ferdinand Magellan to see if our earth was flat or round and I would start seeing  endless ocean around me with strong sea winds and music of the tides. I could smell the salty water around me and hear it splash hard on my ship. I would see beautiful glowing species of fish deep underwater; their glow brighter than that of sunlight fighting to prove its superiority.
